Dean & Lindsay SimpsonIf you like to get dirty, this is for youI was extremely happy to find these. It is a great roof rack and an even better price. These things hold all of the equipment that I have and do it easily. The insulation was super easy and I was done in less than an hour by myself with minimal tools. That are super lightweight, but strong enough to hold whatever you want to put up there. The fit is perfect and gives my car the perfect edgy look that I was looking for while also helping me to load up. I would definitely recommend these to anybody.
The Humble ReviewerAlmost Perfect Cross Bars! These are really great roof rack bars. They feel very strong and sturdy. Once locked onto the VW roof rails, they are not going anywhere. I have zero worry about a roof box or bikes having issues because of these rails. For the price point at $120, they are an excellent option and great value against major brands like Thule (where bars start at $400 and go up) or the OEM bars (which cost $200 for basic bars and north of $500 for the lockable bars). The bars are designed mostly like the OEM bars or Thule bars so they are super easy to use to install items on top of your vehicle. While the value of these bars makes this a no-brainer over OEM or brand name bars, I just can't find it to give them 5 stars because a couple of quirks that I'll describe. These quirks are by no means deal breakers, IMHO, and worth the value here, but just few pieces of info that may be useful to a potential buyer. Despite my 4-star rating, would I buy them again? Yes, in a heartbeat. You simply cannot beat the value here. For reference, I've installed these on a 2025 VW Atlas (non CrossSport).Recommendations:- Do use needle nose pliers to pull the rubber stripping across the center of the bars or it'll take you forever to wiggle it through.- Do use a sharpie to label the sides L and R on the bottom of the side connectors for future reference (if you ever take it apart).- Do put some kind of mat or towel down on top of your car to avoid scratching the roof of your car.- Google search for VW roof rack installation or consult your owners manual for spacing. I went with the general recommended lengths of 22" (between rail start and middle of the front bar) and 29" (between the middle of the front rail to the middle of the rear rail).Quirks:- The instructions could be better but they are really simple to install and I question whether instructions are actually needed. But they could have some useful info like using pliers for the rubber rail install.- When installing the sides, you want to leave the bolts a little loose so you can adjust (as needed on your vehicle). Unfortunately, the bolts tighten from the bottom of the rail. So, after you adjust the rails on top of your VW, you'll want to tighten them down while on the car (because removing them could adjust the alignment). Unfortunately, tightening the bolts from the underside of the rails is a major pain. Other rails have adjustment features from the top (which is a super nice-to-have) and will save you from unnecessary strains.- I can't say that the locks offer security for the rails. The lock really functions to secure the cover and using a flathead screwdriver can easily move the mechanism quite a bit...I did not attempt to force it because I didn't want to break the cover, but feels too weak for this to be security focused. It just locks the better looking cover in place.- There is no easy way to hook or loop securing rope to the sides. This is a low-cost, high-value item so having a loop/hook feature is more of a nice-to-have feature. If you are looking for that, this set does not have that functionality.- The rails are pretty uniform in shape (on front and rear sides). Again this is a low-cost, high-value item so I can't ding for this, but there is no aerodynamic focused design here that you see with brand names to reduce drag or the sacrifice on fuel efficiency.
SquitPerfect for Extra Storage on Our AtlasThese SNAILFLY crossbars are exactly what I needed for my 2025 Volkswagen Atlas. They fit perfectly and feel very sturdy and well made. Installation and assembly were straightforward, and once they were on, they looked great on the vehicle. We take long trips to Tennessee and usually stay for about a month, so we always seem to run out of room inside the car. With these crossbars, I’ll now be able to add a rooftop carrier, whether I use a waterproof cargo bag or a Thule, and move some of our belongings out of the vehicle. This will be especially helpful because it gives us—and our dogs—more room inside the Atlas. I love being able to put the things we won’t need until we arrive up on the roof and keep the interior less crowded.Another feature I really like is the locking mechanism, which adds a nice level of security and peace of mind. Overall, these are sturdy, easy to assemble, look great, and are a perfect solution for adding extra storage space to our Atlas!
Feral SquirrelEasier to install than expected - looks great🐿️Finally got a not too hot day out to get these cross bars installed on my 2026 VW Atlas. My friend was over, and he was trying to be helpful, lol, so getting these on took longer than it should have for sure!!! Anyway, we got them installed, and the my look great! Haven’t tested them out on the road yet, but they will be used all the time! First real test will be a cross country to Mexico trip in 3 weeks so will be sure to come back for an update if any issues arise. I went tight on the screws just to be sure my cargo stays in place. I’ll be using a bag for the top. But while there and on other trips will also be used for a kayak and bikes. Seem super durable. Fit pretty well, our only thought on that was does it really matter how far apart distance wise they are or should they be standard for certain things. My old car had them installed so never had to think about it. But we went with bag size and to try to not cover the moonroof. Good value for the cost, comes with 2 keys. Just takes a minute to get the big picture in your head before you start. But ended up being a fairly easy task I’ve been putting off due to the heat. Great length! Max weight stats 270 I wouldn’t risk going much higher just due to the moonroof if the crops bars fail there potentially goes your window. Will hold the larger cargo bag just fine! One “glitch” in the crossbars I received, minor defect in the coating (tried to get a photo).
Mike TeeClean and Useful Cross Bars for My 2022 Volkswagen AtlasI installed these cross bars on my 2022 Volkswagen Atlas to give us more cargo space for family trips, and they fit the roof rails well. The black aluminum design looks clean and blends in nicely with the vehicle. The bars feel sturdy without being overly heavy. Once installed and tightened, they stayed secure with no noticeable shifting or rattling during normal driving. The built-in T-slot is one of the features I like most because it gives me more flexibility for adding accessories. I can use the same bars with a cargo basket, kayak mounts, or bike attachments instead of being limited to basic strap-on gear. The locking system is also useful. It gives me some extra peace of mind when leaving the Atlas parked with the cross bars installed, especially during road trips.I have used them with luggage and a rooftop cargo carrier, and they have felt stable with the weight distributed evenly. I still stay within the Atlas roof-load limits rather than relying only on the advertised capacity of the bars.Wind noise has been reasonable at highway speeds. There is a little additional sound, which I expect from any roof rack, but it has not been distracting.Installation was straightforward with the included mounting hardware, and the finished setup looks much more factory-style than a universal rack.Overall, I’m very satisfied with these cross bars. They fit my Atlas properly, feel solid, and the T-slot and locking design make them a versatile setup for family travel and outdoor gear.
John IsaacFits my taos!Grear addition to my taos. It fits perfectly and is very sturdy. They hold stablility while driving and feel like they will hold our extra gear for the long road trips
Alix joanStrong, Secure, and Easy to InstallThese crossbars fit the Volkswagen Atlas well and give the vehicle a clean, almost factory-installed appearance. The aluminum bars feel sturdy without being unnecessarily heavy, and the black finish matches the roof rails nicely. Installation was straightforward, although it helped to leave everything slightly loose while adjusting the position of both bars and then tighten them evenly once they were centered. The included locks are a useful feature and provide extra peace of mind when leaving cargo accessories attached to the vehicle. I also like the integrated T-slot design because it makes the bars compatible with a wider range of accessories, including a cargo basket, bike rack, kayak carrier, or rooftop box. After installation, the crossbars remained secure without shifting or creating noticeable rattling during normal driving. As with most roof racks, some additional wind noise may be noticeable at higher speeds, especially when accessories are attached, but it was not excessive. Before ordering, it is important to confirm that the Atlas has the correct flush or raised factory side rails shown in the listing. Overall, these crossbars offer a good combination of solid construction, convenient security, flexible accessory mounting, and an attractive appearance at a reasonable price.
AmzRock solid cross bars. The cross bars are much more robust than the rated. The bars are much wider, the mounting clamps are bigger and they are more low profile than the rest. The all aluminum construction still makes this a lightweight and yet strong cross bars, to add the ski mounts, bicycle mounts, and cargo box carrier. I first tested it with a ski and snowboard mounts first and they held up perfectly. They were very stable at the freeway speed of 65 mph, with a low wind noise and whistling. The installation was very easy and straightforward, both bars were leveled and perfectly lined up when checking with a leveler. With and without the ski rack, the bars are very stable and look very sporty, not to mention very functional. I did a carwash right after I installed them and they cleaned up very nicely, all polished. As far as I could tell, these should funnel the water but I sprayed some grease at each metal parts and contacts to prevent any rusting or corrosion. For less than $120, this is a much more premium cross bars than I bought before.
Mark LomtongLooks good and Like this product for the priceeasy install and looks good !
Rick the farmerperfect fitI bought a set of these for my wife’s new Mercedes GLC 300. We’ve worked and saved all our lives for a vehicle like that. The rails are solid, very well built and look fantastic. They look like they could be expensive OEM. I think they will hold up well. Also, lockable!
